The number of centenarians (those living beyond 100) in the US and around the world is increasing. Estimates show that the number of centenarians around the world will increase eight-fold by 2050.
Join us as on September 22 when we meet a remarkable woman, Eleanor Goodman, who recently celebrated her 101st birthday! Eleanor lives independently in her own apartment in the Chicago area. Born and raised in the city, Eleanor’s life reads like a novel. Raised by a single mother during the Great Depression, Eleanor learned early on the importance of independence and self-reliance. She went on to marry, have 3 children and always stayed active. Eleanor found her calling as a top real estate broker in Chicago. She passed the broker’s exam on the first try (without a calculator) and can recite all the city street names and addresses. She drove and played poker until she was 95, and to this day, goes to the beauty salon once a week.
TTN member Michelle Weisberg helps Eleanor with running errands a couple of times a week and is awed by Eleanor’s enthusiasm for living a full life.
