Join Explore NYC for a private tour of The Skyscraper Museum and the latest exhibit Residential Rising: Lower Manhattan, 2000-2022.

The Skyscraper Museum, founded in 1996, celebrates New York’s rich architectural heritage and examines the historical forces and individuals that have shaped its successive skylines.

The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design and places of work and residence.

Our tour will cover a brief history of the museum and the current exhibit: Residential Rising: Lower Manhattan, 2000-2022, which explores the rebuilding and reinvention of lower
Manhattan since recent significant events: 9/11, the financial crisis of 2008 and Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

This evolution into a mixed residential neighborhood has doubled the residential population.

Acclaimed architects have driven the change with new construction while preserving history by converting distinguished office buildings, e.g., the Woolworth Building and One Wall Street, into luxury apartments.

After our tour attendees can join fellow TTNers for (pay-your-own) lunch outdoors at a nearby restaurant.
