The Underground Railroad was a network of people, black as well as white, working together to offer shelter and aid to freedom seekers from the South. This walking tour will visit eight locations around downtown West Chester that played a part in these struggles toward liberty and equality. This tour lasts approximately 80 minutes and covers 1.5 miles.

Note:  The event is rain or shine and involves walking, so please dress appropriately.

If your schedule permits, join us for lunch at Limoncello West Chester following the tour.  The restaurant is a five minute walk from the History Center.  The cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.  Sign up during registration so we get an accurate count for lunch. 

 There are several parking options available:

• The closest public parking for CCHC is the Chestnut Street Garage at 14 East Chestnut St, across from the CCHC.
  
  
• Metered parking is available on-street and in several parking lots.  Meters accept credit cards, quarters and payment by phone.  Metered parking is enforced Monday through Friday, with a three-hour limit.
