Educator, historian and writer, Amy Jane Cohen will discuss her book, "Black History in the Philadelphia Landscape", then lead us on a tour through the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion.
She will highlight the lives, stories, and achievements of 19th-century Black entrepreneurs, intellectuals, and artisans “who waded through the water of oppression to achieve greatness.” Featured 19th-century figures include Henry Ossawa Tanner, Octavius Catto, and more. Tour goers will view Linda Gail Sanders’ mural inspired by the heroes from Deep Rivers and will also have the opportunity to purchase signed copies of Black History in the Philadelphia Landscape.
Note that the cancellation deadline is Friday June 13th. Should you need to cancel before that date, a credit will be issued to your Women's Connection account to use for future purchases. No refunds after that date.
