Akira Kurosawa Explains His Movies and Yogurt (with Live and Active Cultures). In this whimsical world premiere, playwright Julia Izumi weaves through media and memory to examine cultural imperialism, “healthy” consumption, and why we make art.
If you haven't been to Woolly Mammoth Theater, it can be a bit different. In their own words, "Woolly Mammoth produces courageous and invigorating new work to radically redefine theatre as a catalyst for an equitable, creative, and engaged society." The plays can be somewhat conventional on a challenging topic, or a relatively unique performance experience. So let's have a Woolly theater outing!
You will need to buy your own ticket. Be sure to get the 2:00 matinee performance on Saturday, May 24. The host will be in seat F102. More information and buy tickets here.
We'll meet at 1:45 before the 2:00 play. After, we'll head to Rasika (menu) for an early dinner and a chance to talk about the play or whatever.
Event host is Gretchen S. gretchen@DC-womenconnecting.org
