 Glencairn,1928-39, is a magnificent, castle-like mansion in Bryn Athyn, PA.  It was home to Raymond and Mildred (Glenn) Pitcairn and their children for more than 40 years. Now operating as a museum devoted to religious art and history, it contains a vast collection of about 8,000 artworks, from ancient Greece and Egypt, the Roman Empire and medieval Europe, as well as Islam, Asia and Native America. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.  

Our 90-minute private, guided Highlights Tour will encompass the history of Glencairn Museum from its origin as a family home to its transformation to a museum.  It is sure to awaken your curiosity and foster a spirit of discovery.  The tour begins in the Great Hall, featuring awe-inspiring architecture and skilled craftsmanship followed by an exploration of the extensive galleries of art and artifacts.  We will then venture in to the family spaces that have remained unchanged since Glencairn was a home, including the family chapel and master bedroom.  The elevator ascent to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and Philadelphia skyline, is a visitor favorite.

Closer to the event, we will offer details for those who would like to stay for lunch at a restaurant nearby.
