Volunteering
We’ve been moving full steam ahead with our exciting lineup of volunteer opportunities —and the energy has been incredible!
Our Women’s Connection NYC volunteers continue to make a meaningful impact, and we’re thrilled to feature the amazing work they’ve done across the city. Our goal is to provide two "one-off" volunteer opportunities per month. This means that you volunteer once with an organization. If you enjoy the experience, you can go back on your own.
The photo above features Women’s Connection NYC members in action at God’s Love We Deliver food pantry. The experience was so rewarding that several members returned to volunteer again the next month! We’re excited to share that there will be another opportunity to support this wonderful organization in the fall.
So far Women’s Connection NYC members have also generously given their time to: Food Bank for New York City, Queens Public Library, Women in Need (WIN), National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) and St. Joe’s Soup Kitchen. We are looking forward to helping out Broadway Community this fall.
Members can sign up for current Volunteer Opportunities on our events page or can check out the weekly email about upcoming events and Volunteer Opportunities.
Here is what a few members had to say about their volunteer experience:
Wanda, C - Queens Library Decision Day
I was delighted to join other chapter members at the Queens Library to assemble "Decision Day" kits this summer. These kits included tech and office supplies that were given away to young adults embarking on their post-secondary journeys and to empower them in new settings with essential gear. I dedicate many hours volunteering with the Queens Library, as I grew up surrounded by the library's resources which have inspired my life experiences and work.
Jane, G - Queens Library Decision Day
Loved it! Wish I could do it weekly.
Marla, R - National Council of Jewish Women NY Food Pantry
It was organized and well run. I was happy to have had the opportunity to participate in this fulfilling event, especially to see the gratitude from the neighborhood residents in need of food. The volunteer work was wonderful, and I look forward to participating with the organization next month.
Maria, T - National Council of Jewish Women NY Food Pantry
Very well organized, respectful of those who were in need. Very good experience and I did enjoy meeting women from the chapter.
Bonnie, E - God’s Love We Deliver
All the volunteers had a very special time and would like to do it again this summer.
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers—you’re making a real difference, one act of service at a time!
