Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the  list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

MSP Urban Hiking SIG - Lake of the Isles Nov 22 2024
Eleven of us enjoyed a hike at Central Park in Roseville. It was a cool, but comfortable day and the conversation was great. Ten of us continued our conversation over bagels at the nearby St. Paul Bagelry.

Our May hike will be on Friday, May 25, at 10:00. In May, we will fully embrace the "urban" in our name and hike the neighborhood around St. Catherine's in St. Paul.

Liz D is leading the hike. The hike will be on the sidewalks through the St. Catherine's University neighborhood (Randolph and Cleveland Avenues) and will be about an hour long.   The hike will be followed by light snacks at Carondelet Village.
