Author, blogger, and keynote speaker, Joy Loverde, will present on the concepts covered in her book, Who Will Take Care of Me When I’m Old: Plan Now to Safeguard Your Health and Happiness in Old Age. The registration fee for this event includes a copy of Loverde’s book (which retails at $17.99) for those who don’t already have one. Participants at this event are required to have a copy of the book in hand (but not necessarily to have read it beforehand) at the workshop.
The concept of TRANSITION, and dealing with life’s many transitions, is a key component of The Transition Network’s mission. Who Will Take Care of Me When I’m Old? takes an in-depth look at the aging transition. Loverde’s interactive book contains a plethora of resources, checklists, and exercises on topics such as imagining your future, strategizing, relationships, money, housing, isolation, health, etc.
Loverde says that if you’re “...wondering how to plan for your next life transition, this presentation will offer guidelines to living the life you want now, and into the future.” Her presentation will include discussion of:
- the four parts of wellness
- the impact of of lifelong caregiving
- the fact that where you live matters
- how to manage change
- how to stay in the game in the game
The event will be held in the beautiful new event space at Autumn Grove Park in Roseville. Light evening snacks will be provided as we mingle before the event and learn together throughout the evening.
