Join us on a tour on Saturday, March 22, offered by Save Our Seminary (SOS) at Forest Glen of the National Park Seminary, including the Ballroom. You will discover the fascinating history of the National Park Seminary, view its unique architecture, and learn about its friends and supporters who saved a national treasure from neglect, vandalism, and demolition. National Park Seminary, later called National Park College, was a private girls' school open from 1894 to 1942. Located in Forest Glen Park, Maryland, its name alludes to nearby Rock Creek Park. The historic campus is preserved as the center of a housing development.
We will meet at 12:45 p.m. Tours begin at 1:00 p.m. and last about two hours. Walking is mostly outside on paved paths. Some stair climbing is involved, but an elevator is available if needed. Tours start at the historic gymnasium at 2747 Linden Lane, Silver Spring, MD. Our SOS guide will collect the fee of $10 per person at the start of the tour. Please bring cash. Please register early so I can provide a count to reserve our spots. SOS offers monthly tours on the fourth Saturday, March through November.

See directions below, or use your GPS or Internet search to locate 2747 Linden Lane, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The tour begins in front of the Gymnasium on Cassedy Street at Linden Lane.
– From Georgia Avenue south of the Beltway (I-495), go west (left) on Seminary Road for one block through traffic light to Linden Lane. (Linden Lane goes straight; Seminary Road bears right.) Proceed 0.5 mile, crossing a bridge. Continue on Linden Lane, and turn right at Cassedy Street.
– From Georgia Avenue north of the Beltway (I-495), go west (right) on Forest Glen Road for about one mile, crossing the railroad tracks. Continue across a bridge over the Beltway, and bear left on Linden Lane. Continue on Linden Lane, and turn left at Cassedy Street.
– From the Chevy Chase/Kensington/Bethesda area, take Jones Mill Road, go east on Forsythe Avenue. At the top of the hill, go through the 5-way intersection onto Woodstock Avenue for one block. Continue straight on Linden Lane, and turn left at Cassedy Street.
